What US employers expect on a resume
No photo
US employers generally do not want photos on resumes, and many screen them out to avoid discrimination claims under federal law. Save your headshot for LinkedIn.
Leave out age, marital status and religion
Date of birth, marital status, religion and nationality are not part of a US resume, and employers prefer not to see them. City and state are enough for your address.
One page under ten years
With less than about ten years of experience, aim for a single page. Senior candidates can use two, but the most relevant work should still land on page one.
Lead with results, not duties
Start each bullet with an action verb and add numbers where you can: revenue grown, hours saved, customers served. Recruiters skim, and figures are what stop the skim.
Work authorization, only if it applies
US citizens and permanent residents do not need to mention it. If you are on a visa or will need sponsorship, a short line such as 'F-1 OPT, authorized through 2027' prevents confusion, and the optional visa status field is there for exactly that.

US resume questions
How long should my resume be?
One page if you have less than about ten years of experience, two if you are more senior and every line earns its place. Recruiters read quickly, so put your strongest work first.
Should I include a photo, my age or marital status?
No. None of these belong on a US resume, and many employers would rather not receive them. The photo, nationality and visa fields in CVFalcon are optional, so leave them empty for US applications.
